A simple but elegant basket that will be an eye catcher. Beginning with a woven round base over a D-Handle, students will use the over under technique for the sides. Following completion of a uniquely wrapped handle, the basket is finished with a scallop-braided rim. Some color choices at class time.

​All Hearts Come Home for Christmas by Bonnie Rideout $90.00

All Hearts Come Home for Christmas was designed especially for the West Tennessee Basket Guild for their Christmas Weave in 2024.  This large basket starts by weaving a woven, filled base.  Techniques include setting up a base, twining, paired triple twining, filling the base using the “chicken feet” method, the use of overlays and shaping!  The handle is an oak 8” - 9” push in. The accent colors are Moss green and Christmas red.  There will be a variety of floral embellishments to choose from during class. I will have the state of Kentucky embellishments with me.  If you prefer another state, just let me know ahead of time!

Autumn Abundance by Diane Hamelic

Autumn Abundance begins with twining around an 9" x 7" oval wooden base. Transition to triple twining with a step up. Learn the diagonal weaving technique called French randing and reverse French randing. Notice the arrows that are created as you reverse the French randing. End with triple twining with a step up and a traditional lashed rim using waxed linen thread. Basket is woven using all dyed/space dyed reed - colors used are taupe and favorite flannel. Fall colors pop as you weave!

Intermediate Coiled Linen Bracelet by Maria Tinnell $25.00

​This 4-hour class is an Intermediate class in creating a three-row or double twist coiled bracelet. Participants will have hands on experience learning how to create a three-row or double twist coiled bracelet, add or change colors, create a pattern, and finish the end. You will complete a three-row or double twist coiled linen bracelet (size to be determined by student) You will be able to customize your three-row or double twist bracelet with colors of your choice (Students may bring a special button or bead from their collection to be incorporated into the bracelet if they wish). Price includes materials to complete one three-row or double twist bracelet, includes linen thread, nylon cord and tapestry needles as well as a button or bead for closure. Participants will receive a handout that will include supply sources. Additional materials will be available for purchase after the class if you wish to make other bracelets.

​Maria will also be available the rest of the day on Thursday and Friday, if you'd like to learn how to make a bracelet in between your other classes!

​This is a 5" basket woven with a mix of cane and cherry hardwood staves and cane weavers. The one piece rim and base are cherry. Staves are tapered, pre-bent, and inserted with an even count for chase weaving. Baskets can be pre-started. (Indicate left or right handed.)

​This is not your ordinary wool drying basket. The basket has an open weave bottom with extra support and feet to raise it off the floor, which is perfect to place your washed wool in. What makes this basket different is the feet are made of tobacco sticks and the handle is leather.

**Please note this is a split class.  You will paint the base on Friday and weave the basket on Saturday. **
Students will learn the Dot Mandala technique used to create this beautiful base. The base is 5" wooden base painted blue with a clear finish. When the dotting is complete another clear finish will be added. The basket is a continuous weave with beads added to the inside of the basket.
